Common questions
Is it safe to use an air fryer with peeling coating?
A few swallowed flakes of non-stick coating are generally considered low risk, because they pass through the body. A peeling part should still be replaced: food sticks to it, and more flakes will follow.
What is air fryer basket coating made of?
Most baskets have a PTFE (Teflon-type) non-stick coating; some have a ceramic one. The two age differently and need slightly different care.
Do I need a new air fryer if the coating is peeling?
Usually not. Often only the basket or crisper plate is damaged, and makers or third-party sellers sell replacement parts.
