Parchment paper in the air fryer: easy cleaning without soggy food
Honey glazes, barbecue sauce and melted cheese drip, burn onto the basket and take ages to scrub off. A paper liner catches all of it, but a solid sheet also blocks the hot air from below, so the underside of your food steams instead of crisping. The book shows which liners to use, how to make your own perforated ones, when a liner is worth it, and a simple trick that gives you easy cleaning and a crispy base.

Common questions
Can you put parchment paper in an air fryer?
Yes, oven-safe parchment (baking paper) is fine, as long as food weighs it down and it never touches the heating element. Never preheat with an empty liner, because the fan can lift it.
Does parchment paper stop food crisping in the air fryer?
A solid sheet blocks the hot air coming up from below, so the underside steams instead of crisping. Perforated liners, or using a liner only for sticky food, keep most of the crunch.
Can I use wax paper in the air fryer?
No. Wax paper isn't heat-proof: the wax melts and smokes. Only use paper sold as parchment or baking paper, or liners made for air fryers.
